Jason Steel Talks About Hollie
Jason Steel, Hollie’s dad, has been talking to HollieSteel.org.uk about Hollie and his hopes for her future.
“I’m sure Hollie will do the rest of her life justice,” he said. “We will make sure she keeps her feet on the ground.
“It’s probably a good thing that she is 90% confident and 10% self critical, she should keep level headed always because of that. She lives and breathes singing and dancing, so she is 90% of the way to becoming a success. More hard work and determination should see her through.”
Plus Jason has confided that he has been working on a musical, which whilst progressing will still take a while for him to complete. Perhaps Hollie Steel and her brother Joshua will one day star in their dad’s musical, making it a truly family affair.
Praise for Hollie Steel from her Dance Teacher
29th April, 2009
Hollie Steel’s amazing success on Britain’s Got Talent has come from hard work and determination, according to her dance teacher who was interviewed by the Burnley Citizen.
Hollie’s dance teacher, Kathy Foster, owner of KLF Dance Academy, in Plumbe Street, Burnley, added that Hollie together with her brother Joshua, 15 has been attending the academy since she was five years old.
Kathy said: “Hollie and her brother are extremely talented. Hollie is a confident little girl who doesn’t know how good she is.
“She practises hard and attends lessons three days a week.
“I have seen hundreds of children every year but there is something about her and her brother, we just wish we could hold on to her a little longer.
“She is dedicated, along with her brother.
“She has 100 per cent attendance and I continue with lessons in the holidays because of their commitment. ”
Hollie’s took the lead role as Annie in the Christmas production and Kathy is hopeful that she will be able to perform again at their next show in June 2009.
Kathy added: “She is just so laid back about it all for a young girl, she’s taking it all in her stride.
“She says she will never forget anybody.
“Hollie is a lovely little girl, she’s a fighter and I hope she does really, really well.”

Hollie Steel’s entry to Britain’s Got Talent “An Afterthought”
Hollie Steel’s parents only entered her into the “Britain’s Got Talent” competition so that she didn’t feel left out after her older brother Joseph auditioned.
Now along with Susan Boyle and Shaheen Jafargholi, she is a favourite to win the competition.
Hollie Steel’s parents, Nina and Jason Steel, have admitted that they only entered Hollie into the competition as an after thought.
‘We were taking Josh because we thought it would be more appropriate for him to get on and progress his career as a 15-year-old lad than a 10-year-old girl,’ said mum to the Daily Mail.
‘We weren’t really thinking about a career for Hollie at 10, but when she auditioned I could see the judges were a bit taken aback.’
Nina Steel said Joshua, 15, had requested trying out for Britain’s Got Talent, so she felt that it was only fair to ask Hollie if she wanted to have a go too. Brother and sister went to the auditions in Manchester in November 2008, and performed one after the other.
Sadly for Joshua, the judges were not impressed with his tap dancing, nor his singing of “Fly Me to the Moon”. However, they offered little Hollie the chance to come back and sing in front of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan and Kelly Brook. The audition was recorded in February.
‘Josh took it really well,’ Mrs Steel said. ‘He doesn’t mind. He’s pleased for Hollie.’
