Hollie Steel Easter Sunday Chat Update

Hollie Steel in the SnowHollie Steel was in the chat room again on Easter Sunday. Apparently she only had two Easter Eggs – but she did receive lots of new clothes.

Hollie received lots of compliments and positive remarks about her latest single, Edelweiss, and revealed that her second single from the forthcoming album will be “O Mio Babbino”.  The artwork for the second single is currently being prepared.

Hollie also talked about an album track called “Come to My Garden” – in which Hollie harmonises with herself. Sounds doubly good to me!

Hollie then spoke a little about the Miss Photogenic competition that she has entered. The final is not until November so we have a while to wait to see if Hollie will win.

In the next few days, Hollie is going down to London with her mum and Josh, her brother. Josh will be auditioning for a place at the Italia Conti Stage School, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that he gets offered a place.

Our Day with Hollie Steel and Family

hollie-small2Yesterday, my family and I went to visit Hollie, Josh, Nina and Jason Steel at their home. Jason and Nina had kindly invited us over to see them as a thank you for me setting up this Hollie Steel fan site, which is lovely of them. It is great to feel appreciated!

We arrived mid afternoon and enjoyed an endless supply of hospitality -  the day went by so fast.  Nina played me a version of Hollie singing Nessun Dorma that she is currently working on in a studio, and it was absolutely amazing. It would blow your socks off, I promise! If you were judging her as an adult singing it would sound amazing, but as an 11 year old girl – totally unbelievable.

We didn’t just talk about Hollie singing though – we had a normal, fun time. My children, Sam and Tomson, are each a year older than Josh and Hollie, and they all got on well together, playing on the trampoline, making noises with the amplifier and generally doing what children do – with a few exceptions. For example, whilst I was playing a Nightwish track for the Jason and Nina (I think Hollie would be great singing some of the Nightwish songs that  Tarja Turunen used to sing such as Ever Dream or Wishmaster), we could hear Josh playing the piano. Wow! Such an accomplished pianist, as is dad Jason. Josh will be entering Britain’s Got Talent next year, so let’s hope he gets through next time.

Meanwhile, my son Tomson is certainly looking forward to being asked what he did during the Summer holidays: “Oh, I met Hollie Steel!”

He was so looking forward to meeting Hollie and didn’t really believe it would actually happen until we arrived on her doorstep.

I took some photos whilst we were there, the best of which are contained in this article. Feel free to use them in your tribute videos to Hollie if you would like to :-)

Hollie Steel supported by Big Brother Josh

Little  Hollie Steel has been singing and dancing since she was five years old, just like her big brother Joshua, 15.

Josh has been saying how pleased he is about his sister’s success so far in Britain’s Got Talent, and how he would like a career for himself in music.

Josh says he has taken the media attention in his stride and wishes little sister Hollie every success.

Josh, who attends KLF Dance Academy, in Plumbe Street, Burnley with Hollie, said in an interview with This is Lancashire that he  also hopes to audition for a tv talent show, but this time has his sight set on next year’s X-Factor.

He said: “I’m the proudest brother on the earth, she has had her break and has got to what I am working towards.

“When we decided to go for the Britain’s Got Talent we came up with a few ideas, we tried different things and came up with the routine, we usually work close together.

“I started dancing at eight and singing at 10, Hollie had watched me and got into it. If I hadn’t got into it she wouldn’t have started.”

Josh said of his little sister: “I love her, she’s really giggly and she’s smart and bright “Hollie is an optimist, she doesn’t like to give up and tries her hardest.

“I hope she wins and hopefully she will help me. Performing is both of our dreams. I want her to win not just for me but for her so she will believe she really is that good.

“She doesn’t think she is as good as Susan Boyle.

“I have never heard her sing as she did when she got on stage for Britain’s Got Talent, it sounded like her voice got 10 times better, like she knew she had to prove a point and she gave 120 per cent.”
