Look at Hayley Westenra who busked on Christchurch streets in NZ at the age of 13 with her siblings. Look at what she has achieved now and has grown up to be such a lovely young lady. These things take time and don't happen overnight. Make sure that Hollie continues and loves her singing and she will achieve her potential in time. They do say that all good things come to those who wait. Enjoy your Christmas and know that Hollie brings great joy to many people who have heard her beautiful voice and look at her lovely face. I did wonder why there was too much focus on the "UK charts" anyway and I have repeatedly suggested that Hollie is not a POP artist. This genre is not her bag. Albeit the cover song chosen was a dark/pop/rock xmas song, It was our original understanding that the very first version of Hollies backing track for this would be kept in the vein of a more acoustic/classical style. However this was not to be.. Here's why. I honestly feel the charts are NOT about talent, but rather about packaging and marketing. It's not the kind of 'contest' Hollie needs to be a part of. She's a very different kind of musical artist, and putting all that energy and angst into 'charting' is time away from focusing on her talent, and focusing on her career, now just in its infancy. Charts are ridiculous, and I reiterate, they have zero to do with real talent. Had Hollie charted, her focus would switch to numbers, a disaster for an artist of her caliber and potential. Think bigger than the charts, Nina and Hollie. There is life way above and beyond them. I may be the only person who is happy Hollie didn’t chart. Here’s why. To get among them is not easy. By next year "Where are you Christmas" will certainly be played a lot. In the meantime Hollie will truly have established herself as the brilliant singer she is!
