Hollie Steel’s New Single is “Where Are You Christmas”
Kane, Hollie’s manager, has informed me that Hollie’s new single will be called “Where Are You Christmas”, a song that was originally performed by Faith Hill from the soundtrack of The Grinch.
It will be released in the second week of December. Kane has treated me to a rough sample, and I have to tell you, Hollie sounds fantastic on it. Completely different to the Faith Hill version. Oh, you’re going to love it so much.
Now guys, don’t ask me to post the sample because I can’t. You’ll just have to wait for the release. But boy, it’s worth waiting for.
And another spot of news – this site is now the Official Hollie Steel website. Yay!

Great! That song is good for her voice!
Congratulations Mandy on becoming the official Holly Steel website. You have done great work in putting the site together and I don’t mind telling you it’s been my favourite since you started last April. I am very impressed with the your efforts to continually improve it over these five months. It’s heart-warming to feel that everybody who visit and post here are all supporting Hollie and her dreams. I consider this enterprise a great success and you should be very proud of this achievement.
Thank you
My support for Micks words, Mandy you make it fantastic, we can read it easy (form letter are big enough), the blue is good, and it is the first page site I found after hearing Hollie the first time in May Pfingsten in Germany.
Naturally that is the Wunder wonder that all this nice word spender, (Dieter, Georg, Mick, Scott etcettera) can write so interesting words, replays.
It will become a very good evening in Bournemouth soon.
greetings Haselmaus
I uploaded my tribute video to Hollie now,

This is so weird. I heard that song for the first time a few days ago, and I’ve been hooked onto it ever since. I was secretly wishing/hoping it would be the one Hollie does. I can’t wait to listen to it, it’s going to be a huge hit!
That’s a perfect song for Hollie. I’ve heard the one from Faith Hill from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, which i thought did a really good job on it, Hollies version i think will sound much better. I don’t know the little girl’s name in the movie that played Cindy Lou Who, but i think she sings it in the movie. I sure can’t wait to hear Hollie’s version.
wow, mandy thats fantastick, her single will release this year, youre site is now the offical site, wow well done mandy
Congratulations Mandy! I really think your site is great! i will be waiting patiently in Hong Kong for Hollie’s cd. btw, do u know which shop’s gonna sell Hollie’s cd? will HMV be selling it? are there any sites selling Hollie’s cd?
Hi Olivia, Kane, Hollie’s manager, said:
ok. thx mandy!
Double good new today. Congratulations Mandy, you absolutely deserve to be recognized as the nr 1 Hollie support site. Good on you Kane as well, I’m sure you and Mandy will work together very well.
I never heard of this song Hollie has recorded, so I looked it up on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iZi9f5CEq8
It sounds very nice, and I’m very curious how Hollie will sing it, who has a very different voice as Faith Hill who sings it here. I do think it may suit Hollies voice well.

Hmmm an interesting decision for a first single. This girl (the singer) has an exceptional voice, the video clip is amazing but I am not quite sure about the song. As a highly acclaimed Bulgarian musical critic would say, “this song is so dull and even that no-one will be willing to hum it”. Songs like this make me happy Christmas is only once in a year. It’s nice for a soundtrack, though, and perhaps perfectly fit in the context of the film which it is a part from.
I do believe they chose this song in order to showcase Hollie’s voice. Perhaps they’ll (or already have) change the tonality as I am not sure if Hollie can sing the low F#3 or whatever you call it (in Bulgaria it is F# of the ‘little’ octave)
So, she’s gonna be an opera/musical singer but she’s starting with a pop song?
Georgi
PP My favourite Christmas songs are ‘Let it be Christmas’ by Queen and ‘Blue Christmas’ sung by Elvis. Most of the rest are ‘dull and even’ and I don’t want to hum them.
I agree with you to some extent, but keep it mind who the singer of the song can dramatically affect the song itself. Hollie and Faith Hill have two completely different singing voices, and so when Hollie sings “Where Are You Christmas” it could become the most beautiful, amazing thing you have ever heard, while you may find it dull when Faith Hill does (unless you just don’t like the song itself, regardless of whether Faith Hill sings it or not). But yes, why in the world is she singing a pop song if she is training to be a opera/classics singer? I suppose it is a Christmas song but…..
Hello again,
First of all I am terribly sorry for having been needlessly harsh in my opinion on the song. Must have had a bad moment. I’ve just given it another listen and here is what I think:
Though it won’t become my favourite Christmas song I think the refrain is catchy (I did hum it while under the shower – which proves my initial impression was wrong). The way it’s performed it fits a film perfectly. And, Carmen, I like Faith Hill’s voice – it’s dense and warm. It was the arrangement that was not quite up to my liking.
With another, more light-spirited arrangement, the song may shine. I guess this is the Song Hollie has recorded with the choir.
My question as to why she is going to attack the charts with a pop song remains. Perhaps there are no classical songs dedicated to Christmas – at least I can’t think of a one – and the traditional songs like ‘Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht’ and ‘O, Tannen Baum’ are worn out. We will wait & see what will happen.
Georgi
THANK YOU! I have waited so long to point out how dark and depressing the arrangement of the video was but not a single word until now
By the way Georgi, you should consider a career like that of Simon Cowell as far as the judging part goes. You would do a wonderful job. Come to America and please save us from this never-ending of talentless empty-headed random celebrity judges!
I mean David Hasselhoff as an America’s Got Talent judge? What is that?! No wonder nobody watches that show, he ruins it beyond reasoning!
In Bulgaria where I live Christmas is the 3rd most important Christian holiday, with the Easter being the first and St. George’s day (my name day) being the second. The last two always happen in late spring when the trees are blossoming and the Earth is like beginning a new life. Perhaps that’s why I like them better than Christmas.
I’ve seen the real Santa Claus. He lives in a hut on the polar circle near the town of Rovaniemi (Finland). He is a pretty nice dude who speaks a dozen of languages. In his hut, there is the mechanism which he uses to turn the world. Together with a few friends and relatives I got photographed by a green elf.
I will definitely buy the single. It will make an exceptional present to my Sister and her husband (brother-in-low?) whom I am going to visit in Finland during Christmas time this year. They are not aware of Hollie.
Georgi
Mandy, provided this is now Hollie’s official web site I think you should remove the google adds because they look very unprofessional. The footer of the site still says ‘Hollie Steel Fan Site’.
Once again I would like to congratulate you and Dieter for your work. I think both of you deserve to be ‘parents’ to what is now Hollie’s official place in the web. There is a web log, a forum and a chat room. Now, if only we could talk to our little star here in the chat room!
Georgi
Congratulations Mandy all that hard work has paid off . this has been the best site from the start , all the regular writers met here and now we are going to Bournemouth together , So sorry you cant come .
love david.
Congratulations Mandy on this being the official fan site! This is certainly the best one I’ve seen.
Thank you, Carmen
Dear Friends
We are just back from Bali, we didnt realise the song name had been announced, I promise you, it won’t sound anything like Faith Hill.( Although i think Faith Hills version is lovely) Hollie sings the song in a completely different key (guess if its going to be higher or lower!).She sings the song more like a beautiful choir girl, perfect we feel for christmas. There won’t be any pop music heading your way from Hollie just yet.
Nina X
PS Mandy you are brilliant, Thankyou
Thank you xxx
To Carmen: (I do not see a reply button after her comment)
Thank you for your invitation. I’ve been 3 times to the USA – I stayed in Ann Arbor, Michigan – it’s a very lovely place. Would not consider moving to the States for some reason, though.
To Nina – higher or lower key is very relative, you know. The original begins in Bb major and progresses through several transitions. I think Hollie will begin in D or Es or F – these tonalities are very suitable for a ballad.
Now, I’m leaving you. I’m going to place a bet on today’s games of the Champions League. I wish every bit of success to the English teams.
I’m Esther from Hong Kong. Can I buy this in Hong Kong?
Yes, HMV deliver to Hong Kong.
