May Mum Nina, 37, said the public reaction to her daughter has been "unbelievable".

She said: "We are so thrilled with how the public have taken to her. It was scary because we didn’t know how people were going to react but the response has been absolutely great."

Hollie recalled: "When I came on to the stage and danced they were all going ‘ahh’. But when I started singing the first verse they began cheering and I couldn’t hear myself sing. But it was really exciting.

"The phone has been ringing all the time since Saturday. It was good watching it on telly but it was nerve-racking seeing if it was a good or a bad audition."

BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Hollie Steel certainly won’t forget her 11th birthday.

The singing sensation celebrated turning 11 by having 14,000 people sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to her at a packed arena.

Hollie was in front of fans at a sold-out Belfast Arena on the Britain’s Got Talent UK tour.

Now back at home with her mum Nina, 37, dad Jason, and older brother Joshua, 15, Hollie is ready to relax and enjoy the summer.

Nina said: "The tour has been brilliant. She has had a really good time and has made some wonderful friends.

"It’s been a complete whirlwind. We wake up in one city, get on the bus and then are in the next city and don’t always know where we are from one day to the next.

"Some days we were doing two shows , while others just one. Hollie also had lots of school work to do so she was very busy.

"The team really looked after us but Hollie is really glad to be home with her dad and her brother."

Hollie first stole the nation’s hearts with her pitch-perfect performance of I Could Have Danced All Night during the ITV show’s audition stage in Manchester. She won the audience vote and gained a spot in the semi-final.<<
