Hollie Steel Records Her Album at the Ace Centre in Nelson
Some details of Hollie Steel’s debut album that we know she has been recording have appeared today in the Lancashire Telegraph.
The article details how Hollie has spent the last two weeks in the recording studio, recording songs from “musicals and operas”.
Hollie is hoping to have her single released in time for Christmas. Yay!!
Nina, Hollie’s mum, has said that Hollie stands a great chance of reaching the Top 40 as the sounds coming out of the studio are “really good”. So far, Hollie has recorded seven tracks, some choices may be “surprising” to Hollie’s fans.
(My prediction here – a Christmas single from Hollie will reach the Top 10.)
Backing vocals on some of the classical tracks were provided by Pendle’s Arden Youth Choir.
Nina told the Lancashire Telegraph: “We want to do it right and to a commercial standard because we want to release it as a proper album.
“Hollie’s having a really good time doing what she’s doing and the songs sound really good.
“She’s enjoyed picking some of the songs herself. We’re trying to make it fun for her because she’s only a little girl.
“We would like to get into the charts. That’s the ultimate aim. No one is expecting a number one, but we hope it makes it into the charts.
“Fans from Hong Kong and America keep asking us when there will be an album – that’s one of the reasons why we are making it.”
Hollie has been recording her album at the new Ace Centre, in Cross Street, Nelson.
Nina Steel is impressed with the facilities there, describing them as “brillant”. She said that she was amazed to find facilities of such a high standard so close to home.
Ace Centre manager Kirsty Rose said: “We are thrilled that Hollie has chosen the ACE Centre to record her debut album.
“It is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility with a professional studio and therefore Hollie’s album will get a professional release.
“We wish her every success for the future and we are delighted that we have played some part in helping her on her road to stardom.”
Thanks to Léopold for bringing this article to my attention.

I’m glad they found such a high quality recording studio so close to home! Imagine if they had to drive to say, London! I can’t wait to buy her album!
Hi,
This studio thingie must have costed the Steels an arm and a leg but the income from the sales will be so high that Hollie will be able to return her investment. I see their goal is much more than that which is good.
Although we didn’t see Hollie at her best during the Britain’s Got Talent show I am glad that many people, including me, appreciate her talent. I think that after releasing this CD she will be off to a good start, and more and more interesting options will be in front of her. She’s a good actor, perhaps not so good a ballerina but a good dancer and she should get a part in a film.
I hope her new manager will find a way how to promote this ‘tiny little thing’. He looks like a smart man because he managed to double Hollie’s fans on Face Book in a week. These charities Hollie takes part in are a good but modest thing and I think she needs a promotion on a larger scale – like TV performances, interviews and parts of real concerts.
In the same time I feel really really lucky that I am going to meet her on the charity ball in Bournemouth.
I already told Hollie that I am usually highly critical of professional music performances. Therefore, I won’t save any word if I do not like something on her album. Compared to me, Simon Cowell is like a rose. For example, I all but got crucified by my colleagues at work when I said Madonna cannot sing well and all she does is waiving her hands & legs on the stage. Let’s see what a girl who can actually sing can do.

PP Please, what I wrote above about Madonna is my personal opinion and I can defend it. It is not meant to provoke off topic discussions here. The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever witnessed was that Madonna came to Bulgaria and all the people I spoke to who attended her concert felt like “robbed” because she did not sing – playbacking all the time. That’s the way Madonna promoted her new album in Bulgaria.
And from here Hollie Steel’s career kicks of, most likely including several live performances and movies, particularly musicals. I agree she was certainly not at her very best during Britain’s Got Talent (except for her perfectly relaxed final), even though she sounded wonderful anyway. Of course that’s because she was onstage with pressure on her back. Her voice is going to sound even better when it’s fully developed in a few short years. I see a lot of potential in her, and a bright future ahead.
P.S. I agree that Madonna is a terrible singer and gives ridiculous perfomances. She must be just a very lucky woman, or people have lost their taste in music.
I not to crazy about Madonna either. I even heard that they have to edit her voice, i’m not really sure about that, but i heard that Madonna is not a good singer. The only songs that i really liked from Madonna was Don’t Cry For Me Argentina, Used To Be My Playground, Like A Prayer & Boarderline. I don’t like a lot of her songs. & I know that Hollie blows Madonna away with just one note. I hope i didn’t offend any Madonna fans here, but it’s my opinion & i’m not bashing her on youtubes.
Hey! i am one of the Hong Kong fans!
