Hollie Steel – More Album News
Here are a few updates on the progress of Hollie’s single and album – it’s all getting quite exciting!
The first single to be released from the album is “Edelweiss”, which is due to be released on March 29th. The single will also appear on Hollie’s album, which will be called simply “Hollie”. The album and single are being released under Jason and Nina Steel’s BB5 Records label.
The single and album are being distributed by Universal and will be available both in the shops and digitally online.
The first single, Edelweiss, will reach the distributor this week, all being well!

but the time we wait we become richer and kinder ans Hollie is a Goldschatz
What a wonderful choice for a single! Congratulations! I admit I skipped the Christmas one but I am getting Edelweiss for sure. I think it’s Hollie’s top performance I’ve seen up to now and am glad that they chose it over ‘Nessun Dorma’.
Georgi, have you heard Hollie’s live version of Edelweiss recorded last month in Hong Kong? It is spectacular. My guess is that this will be the arrangement used on the single. You can listen to it on this site at the entry, “Hollie Steel at the JSG Top 10 Awards Presentation”, just a few places below here.
Mick, I’ve listened to it. I think, with a proper marketing, it may become a contender for a place in the charts (I apply a bit of guesswork here, as all of us saw how the chart thingie worked).
Very good arrangement of the song, and Hollie’s rendition brings something new to the song. Here is the original as sung by Julie Andrews http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEtb06tv9CE
Whether one would like Julie Andrews’ mature performance or Hollie’s childlike one is a matter of taste. However, I think both of them do a great job in their interpretation, but Hollie’s finale sounds amazing because I think her voice resembles the sound of the small trumped in D used by Handel and Bach.
