Hollie Steel has just arrived back from Bali with her mum, Nina. Nina has been having a little look at the site and your comments, and has this to say about Hollie’s upcoming single:

Dear Friends

We are just back from Bali, we didnt realise the song name had been announced, I promise you, it won’t sound anything like Faith Hill. (Although I think Faith Hill’s version is lovely). Hollie sings the song in a completely different key (guess if its going to be higher or lower!).She sings the song more like a beautiful choir girl, perfect we feel for christmas. There won’t be any pop music heading your way from Hollie just yet.

I’m pleased to announce that Hollie Steel does indeed now have a record deal, or will shortly. She will be signing the record contract at the studio in the next couple of weeks. Her manager, Kane, is signing her to one of his labels VVR2 records, part of Vines Vinyl Records.

Unfortunately, the album was initially financed by the Steels as Kane became Hollie’s manager a little late in the day, as most of you already know.

Nevertheless, we can all look forward to a big release of the album and lots of press coverage.

Kane, Hollie’s manager, has informed me that Hollie’s new single will be called “Where Are You Christmas”, a song that was originally performed by Faith Hill from the soundtrack of The Grinch.

It will be released in the second week of December. Kane has treated me to a rough sample, and I have to tell you, Hollie sounds fantastic on it. Completely different to the Faith Hill version. Oh, you’re going to love it so much.

Now guys, don’t ask me to post the sample because I can’t. You’ll just have to wait for the release. But boy, it’s worth waiting for.

And another spot of news – this site is now the Official Hollie Steel website. Yay!

Kevin has updated me with some Hollie news that appeared on Hollie’s Facebook page, posted by Hollie’s agent, Kane.

Hollie will be going into our studios in London in the next couple of weeks to sign her recording contract and to record her Christmas Single. I have heard a little sample of the christmas single and it’s very very good. Well done to Nina, Hollie’s Mum, for suggesting the song. The finished article will be breathtaking.

Manchester Evening News have posted a number of interviews on Youtube with Hollie Steel and her mum, Nina. They don’t contain any really recent news, but they are interesting to watch, especially if you have not seen them before.

Hollie Steel hopes to get her debut single released in time for Christmas, according to an article that appeared in today’s Burnley Express. According to the article, Hollie has her heart set on becoming “the next Charlotte Church”.

Hollie has so far recorded 10 tracks for her debut album, including classical songs.

Mum Nina told the Burnley Express that Hollie had been inspired to sing more classical pieces by  Charlotte Church, who became famous when at age 13 she released the album “Voice of an Angel”.

Nina told the Burnley Express: “Hollie has also recorded some classical songs for the album which people won’t really expect. She sings them really well, better than some of the musical theatre ones.

“She is an aspiring Charlotte Church and I’ll try my best to help her get there”

“Fans from Hong Kong, America and Germany have been asking when Hollie is going to release an album,” added Nina.

“I’ve been speaking to Hollie’s manager and we are going to try and get a single out for Christmas. We don’t really know about the album although it would be better if it was out for Christmas. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

I know most of you are already aware of the main details in this article as it is similar to the one that appeared in the Lancashire Telegraph, plus Nina keeps us informed on Facebook. Nevertheless, it is good to see  Hollie is taking up media space.

I know I have posted a video of Hollie Steel singing in Manchester before, but Léopold brought to my attention this lovely quality video of Hollie singing Edelweiss with 2 Grand in Manchester on June 14th, so I just had to show it to you all. Hollie looks so sweet in it!

I understand from Hollie’s Facebook page that Hollie was interviewed on Granada Television on Thursday morning. If anyone has recorded the interview, it would be nice if it could be uploaded to Youtube so we could share it with everyone.

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that Dieter has transferred over his Hollie Steel Forum site (formerly at www.holliefans.com) to be a part of this Hollie Steel fan site. Everything on the forum is as it was before, and it can now be accessed directly from the Forum tab. Dieter has also added a chat function.

I don’t really know much about setting up forums, so it is great to have the benefit of Dieter’s expertise which will add an extra dimension to this website.

I’m sure you will all join with me in welcoming Dieter on board!
